Software Release Management: Tools, Methods, and Applications
Date: Monday, Nov 18, 2019
Location: Old Mill Toronto, 21 Old Mill Road, Toronto, Ontario, M8X 1G5
Workshop Fee: $1,250 CAD (includes e-book)
Product release planning is the art and science of deciding about the functionality, quality, and timing of upcoming releases. The impact of this process on business success is strong, as the results determine the satisfaction or dissatisfaction of customers. Product release management is a decision-centric process. Data science and optimization support release decision-making and help to explain and justify decisions.
Ten release decision scenarios will be studied:
What to release?
How much to release?
How good to release?
When to release?
How often to release?
How to extract and handle feature dependencies?
How to re-plan to accommodate change?
How to extract features from social media and other sources of information?
How to prioritize features?
How to balance between new features and technical debt?
For all these scenarios, tool supported solution approaches will be discussed. The knowledge and hand-on experience gained will enable the participant to make future release decisions stronger based on objectivity.
Attendees should bring their laptops to perform some sample case studies.
Workshop fees includes coffee/tea, lunch, and refreshments throughout the day.
